During the Taiwan Excellence 2017 celebration, one of the events was the gathering of families together with their children got a chance to meet other parents who undergo IVF treatment and chance to meet Dr. Lee Maw Sheng of Lee Women's Hospital


There were more than 700 Philippines couples searched for help from Lee Women's Hospital; 400 couples of them already had successful IVF, delivering more than 500 IVF babies healthily, including singleton, twins, triplet, and quadruplet according to statistics since 1986 until now.

What is IVF? IVF is the process of fertilization by extracting eggs, retrieving a sperm sample, and then manually combining an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish. The embryo(s) is then transferred to the uterus. Other forms of ART include gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT) and zygote intrafallopian transfer

The artificial reproductive technology in Taiwan is mature and outstanding around the globe. The rate of a baby boy is about 50.4%, baby girl is about 49.6%; the oldest IVF baby now is already at the age of 18.

Taiwan is a pioneer on ART in Asia, with a high rate of pregnancy compares to other countries, this is one of the reason it is well known in the Philippines and couples choose to go to Taiwan to undergo IVF procedure in Lee Women's Hospital.
